Mitchell Scott Harris, 57, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Born in Wakefield, VA he was the son of the late Littleton Purcell “Boochie” Harris. Mitchell retired from the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Department after 33 years of service. He was currently working for Dance’s Sporting Goods in Colonial Heights as an Assistant Manager and Firearm Specialist. Mitchell was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, the Dinwiddie Ruritan Club, the Sportsman Hunt Club and was the co-owner and operator (with Claiborne Fisher) of Kampfire Productions. He is survived by his mother, Margarette S. Harris; his loving wife of 35 years, Darlene Wise Harris; one brother, Michael Harris and wife, Pollie; a sister, Judy Langster; one niece, Marie Grant and her two children, Charlie and Harry Grant; a nephew, Will Andrews and wife, Kristin and their son, Josiah Andrews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the funeral home.
