On Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, Leon D. Beck, 86, was escorted to heaven by a convoy of angels while surrounded by his loving family. Service: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitations: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Greenwood. Memorials: EOD Warrior Foundation, www.eodwarriorfoundation.org, in lieu of flowers. Leon was born May 26, 1929, in Natoma, Kan. He was a 1951 Kansas State University graduate and served 20 years in the Air Force, retiring as a major. He retired again after 23 years at Williams Instruments in Fort Worth. He was a dedicated Sunday school teacher and blood donor. Leon was predeceased by his parents, Ervin and Myrtle Beck; sister, Connie K. Beck; and two great-grandsons, Seth and Michael. Survivors: Loving wife of 62 years, Shannon; children, Nanda Hall, Cheryl Rosati, Andrea Gibson, Lori-Lyn Dunn, Leon D. Jr. and Shane Beck; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a large Kansas family.
