Gene Dwight Acord, 78, of Sherwood was promoted to Heaven, Tuesday, May 6, 2014. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Gravel Ridge. He retired from Smith Ford in Conway and loved restoring old tractors and gasoline pumps.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elaine McClendon Acord; daughter, Brenda Cuento (Obie); two sons, Keith Acord (Angelia) and Scott Acord; four grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Cuento, Claudine Cuento, Lindsay (Jason) Myers and Jordan (Angela) Acord; six great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Cuento, Ethan, Carter and Elyse Myers and Peyton Acord, three sisters, Kay Williams, Sherron Wyrick and Patty Compas; and his constant traveling companion, "Mo". He was preceded in death by his parents, Cegil "Mike" and Wilma Anders Acord.
Because of his love for Bible Study Fellowship, memorials in his honor may be made to BSF International, 19001 Huebner Road, San Antonio, Texas 78258-4019.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church in Gravel Ridge. Burial will be in Gravel Ridge Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
