Betty A. Irwin, 88, of Landisville, PA, passed away peacefully at her home and surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
Born in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jennie Margaret Neff. She was the widow of Jay W. Irwin and was preceded in death by her son, Jay M. Irwin.Betty was an active member at Bethany Presbyterian Church where she was involved with various activities, including church yard sales. She worked as a teacher for the S. June Smith Center for many years and loved working with the children who attended. She served as a member of the Epilepsy Board. She enjoyed baking, needlework, making many items in her lifetime to be given to others, reading, her dog, Muffin, and was a huge Penn State football fan. Most of all, it was her family that meant everything to her.She is survived by five daughters, Easty, wife of Arthur Law, Oceanside, CA; Linda, wife of Jimmer Pontz, Lebanon, PA; Jaylene, wife of Steve Manuel, State College, PA; Suzanne, wife of Jesus Gomez-Terron, Salamanca, Spain, and Ruthann, wife of Eric True, Airville, PA; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to attend Betty's Memorial Service at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 25 North West End Avenue, Lancaster, PA, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with The Rev. Kent Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends at The Groff's Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange St., (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at Bethany Presbyterian Church, on Saturday following the Memorial Service. The interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood, PA will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Bethany Presbyterian Women, 25 North West End Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the charity of your choice.
