William (Bill) Tucker went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, August 22, 2015 after living 86 years on earth.

Bill was born April 9, 1929 on a farm in Hansell, the son of Leonard and Mabel Armstrong Tucker. He married Norma Brockman on August 11, 1951 in Danforth, Illinois, and they later divorced.

Bill graduated from Hampton High School in 1946 and joined the Navy in June of 1946, serving aboard the USS Auscilla as Seaman First Class.

He graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly in 1952. He worked as an accountant, and later as a carpenter before retiring in Florida.

Bill has four children who survive him, John (Jill) Tucker, Ann Tucker, Jim Tucker, and Mary (Tim) Schueler; his grandchildren, Betsy, Shauna, Kaitlyn, Angela, Taylor, and Kalan; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ciana, Dakota, Austin, Savannah, Summer, Layten, Shayla, and Kayden on the way.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard; and two sisters, Ruby and Leta Mae.

Dad was a free-spirited traveling man. But, he came back to live in Ottawa near his family for the final 10 years of his life.

A private family memorial service will be held September 1.
