Anna was the daughter of George Andrew HUFFORD (1821-1910) and Christina OTTO (b. 1831, d. bef 1900). Anna is listed on page 244 of the 1909 HUFFORD FAMILY HISTORY.

In 1860, Anna was in Napier Township, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, with her parents and siblings: Henrietta J., Mary C., and William J. (Family name was listed as HOFFERT.)

In 1870, Anna was in Juniata Township, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, with her parents and siblings: Henrietta, Mary, William, Joseph, Virginia, and Emma (Sarah Emma). Her father was farming.

Sometime in the 1870s, Anna married Mr. SHROYER. Two children were born to the union: Harry Elwood (in October 1876) and Maurice Grant (in April 1880). What happened to Mr. Shroyer is not known; those two children came to use their mother's maiden name as theirs: Hufford.

In 1880, Anna was in Bedford Township (west), Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, with her parents (mother incorrectly listed as "Catharine") and siblings: Henrietta, Mary, William, Espy (Joseph Espy), Ina (Virginia Ina), and Emma (Sarah Emma). Anna was listed as "Annie Hufford" and noted as single. Also in the household was Anna's one-month-old son, "Marcy SHROYER," born in April. "Marcy" was "Maurice."

On October 11, 1881, Anna married David C. FORNEY. The marriage produced seven children before the 1900 census: Sherman Carl (1882), Calvin Elmer (1884, sometimes in the records as "Charles"), George A. (1887), Ellis Leroy (1890), Ina Viola (1892), Ella Catherine (1894), and Mary E. (1898).

In 1900, Anna was in Bedford Township, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania, with her husband and seven of their children: Sherman C., Charles E. (Calvin E.), George A., Ellis Leroy, Ina Viola, Ella C., and Mary E. Anna's husband worked as a day laborer.

In March 1901, at the age of 46, Anna gave birth for the last time. Her son Clarence was born on March 16, 1901.

In 1909, the HUFFORD FAMILY HISTORY was published. Anna's children were listed on page 244 as Harry, Maurice, Sherman, Charley (actually Calvin), George, Roy, Ina, Ella, Mary, and Herbert (actually Clarence Albert). The book gave no last names for the children, but the reader would be lead to believe that all children had the same father; that is not so. Anna's first two children (Harry and Maurice) were born to Anna's first marriage, to Mr. SHROYER, but they came to use the surname HUFFORD.

In 1910, Anna was in Logan, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, living on Green Wood Road with her husband and their children Charles E. (Calvin E.), Ellis L., Ella C., Mary E., and Clarence A. The census taker noted that Anna and her husband had been married for 28 years, that Anna had birthed 10 children and all were alive, that it was her husband's first marriage, and that it was Anna's second marriage. Her husband worked as a farmer.

In 1920, Anna was in Duncansville, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, living on Market Street with her husband and three of their adult children: Ina V. (listed as "Anna V. Fisher"), Calvin, and Clarence A. Her husband was 65 and working as a "track hand" for the railroad.

In September 1929, Anna's husband died. He was 75, the same age as Anna. Anna's husband's obit listed as surviving children "five sons and three daughters, Sherman E. and R. E. [Roy E.] Forney, Altoona; Mrs. Ina Austin, Mary, Albert and Calvin Forney, at home; George Forney, in Virginia; Mrs. Ellie Huss, Hollidaysburg; two stepsons, Harry and Maurice Hufford, Altoona." The listing of Harry and Maurice Hufford as her husband's stepsons connects those two sons to Anna.

In 1930, Anna was living in Hollidaysburg, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, at 702 Montgomery, with her daughter Mary and son Clarence E. They paid $15 a month to rent their home.

By 1935, Anna was living in Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania.

In 1936, Anna and her daughter Mary were living at 115 Southey Ave., in the Llyswen district of Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania.

In 1940, Anna was living in Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, at 124 E. 2nd Ave., with her daughter Mary. Anna reported that she had a 4th grade education.

In 1943, Anna and daughter Mary were living at 124 E. 2nd Ave., in Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania.

When Anna died in 1952, she was over 97 years old and had been living at 306 1/2 Montgomery Street in Hollidaysburg, Blair Co., Pennsylvania. Her daughter Mary signed Anna's death certificate as the informant, and Anna's parents were named as George HUFFORD and Christine OTTO.

Anna's father George was the son of Solomon, who was the son of Philip, who was the son of Christian who born in 1716 in Schwaigern, Germany.
