Scott Wesley Fox, 47, of Onaga, Kansas, died Monday, August 24, 2015, at his home as a result of a heart condition. He was a life-long resident of the area. Scott was born October 23, 1967, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Ronald E. and Judith Caudill Fox. He grew up in Wamego and then at the age of 14 moved to St. Marys. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1986. He then moved to South Dakota for a couple years before moving back to the Wamego area in 1989.
Scott was a Certified Medication Aide and worked at several different nursing homes prior to moving to Onaga and working at the Red Bud Plaza from 2007-2013. He was a boy scout when he was young. Scott loved sports and was an avid fan of K-State, the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves. Scott married Robin J. Schwant on November 15, 1997, in Wheaton, Kansas. She survives at their home. He is also survived by his father and step-mother, Ronald and Marcia Fox, Wamego; his father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Ireta Schwant, Blaine; his brothers, Jason Fox (Shannon), Westmoreland, Justin Fox (Beth), Lenexa; his sister, Amy M. Birdwell (Lee), Kansas City; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1977, his brother, Jeffrey Birney in 1999 and his grandparents Arnold and Goldie Caudill, Donald and Rita Fox, and Olin and Marie Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2015, at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Reverend Terry DeGiovanni will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Marys. Mr. Fox will lie-in-state on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the mortuary where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
