She graduated from Ursuline High School in 1950. She then married Frank Robinson, the love of her life, and started on their lifelong journey together.

The young couple moved to Oakridge, Tenn., where Frank attended the university. They next moved to San Antonio in 1952, where Frank was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. In 1956, they continued their travels and moved to Los Angeles. There, Diana worked as a medical secretary while Frank attended the Art Center School to study photography.
