Heart Attack Is Fatal To Anton Ziarnik, 73

MANITOWOC-
Anton B. Ziarnik, 73, of 1911 Hamilton street, died of a heart attack Friday morning during a visit to the Gregory and Simenson clinic here.

A rescue squad consisting of Asst. Fire Chief Nels Petersen and Firemen Art Nichels and Kenneth Miller employed an inhalator and an iron lung in a vain attempt to revive the stricken man.

Mr. Ziarnik was born in Two Rivers and came to Manitowoc when a young man. He is survived by a son, Marvin, and five daughters, Mrs. John Piakowski, Mrs. Charles Sitkowitz, Mrs. Fred Duenkel, Mrs. Fred Stroupp and Mrs. Albert Zagrodnik, all of this city.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Pfeffer funeral home.

Funeral services for Anton B. Ziarnik, 73, of 1911 Hamilton street, Manitowoc, who died suddenly of a heart attack Friday at the Gregory and Simenson clinic, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary Catholic church. The Rev. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born in Two Rivers in 1878 and came to Manitowoc as a boy with his parents. In 1900 he married Miss Blanche Becker. A cigar-maker by trade, he was later employed at the Reiss Coal company for 20 years and then with the White House Milk company until his retirement in 1949. His wife died in 1941. Mr. Ziarnik was a member of the Holy Name society, St. Stanislaus society, Catholic Order of Foresters, and St. Aloysius society.

Survivors are a son, Marvin and five daughters, Mrs. John Pirskowski, Mrs. Charles Sitkowitz, Mrs. Fred Duenkel, Mrs. Fred Stroupp, and Mrs. Albert Zagrodnik of Manitowoc; two brothers, John and Peter of Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock Saturday evening where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
