Paula Kay Akins, 59, of Liberty, Ms. passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, La. She was born September 19, 1955 in Starkville, Ms. the daughter of Robert Barnhill and Edna Tyler Barnhill. She was a retail clerk at U.S.M. and a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Tower Hill Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Doug Akins, her daughter, Tonya Akins Johnston, her son Randall Douglas Akins. 3 brothers, Robert D.. "Bobby" Barnhill and wife Judy, and Jerry Barnhill and wife Mary. 1 sister, Cathy B. Edwards and husband Mike. 6 Grandchildren, Kelsea, Allie, and Tyler Johnston, Destiny, Levi, and Steven Akins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Sharon Joy Barnhill, and 1 brother, Terry Wayne Barnhill.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Ms. from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Visiting Wednesday, from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.

Officiated by Rev. Sam Edwards and Rev. James Gray. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Ms.

Pallbearers are Brandon Hayden, James Hayden, Wiley Jackson, Dewayne Jackson, Jeremy Barnhill, Brandon Edwards, Wes Burns, and Mitch Whetstone.

Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Wayne Clark, Junior Pardin, Forrest Loupe, Jimmy Burns, and Nathan Temple.
