Dick was a retired construction worker and a member of the Grayville Christian Church and the Central Laborer’s Union. In his early work career, he was employed by McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corporation. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Army Color Guard, and was a 50-year honorary member of the Albion Moose Club and the Grayville American Legion. Among his pastimes were playing golf and attending gun and knife shows and drinking coffee at the local “tables of knowledge”. Dick also enjoyed activities at the Grayville Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Bunting of Grayville; son Richard Kyle Bunting of Seattle, Washington; daughters Judith L. McNew Henry of Grayville; daughter-in-law LaDonna Kell McNew of Waverly, Illinois; brothers Jerry (Linda) Bunting of Owensville, Missouri, Robert Bunting of Vincennes, Indiana, and George Dale (Debbie) Bunting of Bone Gap, Illinois; sisters Joyce Paris of Albion, and Patsy (Gene) Combs of O’Fallon, Illinois; grandchildren Cliffton (Jennifer) McNew, Stacy (Andy) Robinette, Nicole (Justin) Bradfield, Pagan (Tony) Potter, Allison (Josh) Downs, Amanda Bunting and Troy Sheets, and Ryne Bunting; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons Ricky Keith Bunting and Michael McNew; and brothers Ronald and Thomas Bunting.
