Bertha B. Scott, 89, formerly of Painted Post, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Elizabeth Church Manor in Bunghamton, NY. Bertha was born on July 25, 1925 in Beaver Meadows, PA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Yaskanicz) Lutzick. She married Emory G. Scott on Aug. 10, 1948. He predeceased her in 1985.
She worked for 20 years on the kitchen staff at the Corning-Painted Post School District's Calvin U. Smith Elementary and East High Schools.
Bertha was a caring parent, dedicated to the well-being of her children. She was a medical caregiver for her youngest after her daughter's onset of childhood diabetes months after birth.
Bertha was an avid reader and gardener, who was often seen tending flower beds at the family home in Riverside.
