Mary Emogene “Jean” Templeton, 81, of Millwood, WV, passed away August 29, 2015, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

She was born June 7, 1934, in Quinwood, WV, a daughter of the late Oliver Ray and Orpha Claris (Pettrey) Rogers. Her husband, William J. Templeton; daughter, Marcia L. “Jorge” Jackson and sisters, Irene Gaye Rogers and Carol Criddle also preceded her in death.

Jean was a homemaker and a member of the Ravenswood Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed singing gospel songs and was a former member of the church choir and in her youth, sang in a gospel trio on radio.

Survivors include her daughter, Debi Beverage of Millwood; grandchildren, Rachel Tolley of Gay, Benjamin Staats of Spencer, and E.J Jackson of Williamstown; great grandchildren, Austin Tolley, Jordan Tolley, Ryan Tolley and Lauren Tolley; stepchildren, Brenda Webb of Cottageville, Dorcas Carmichael of Medina, Janice Hawkins of Weston and William “Butch” Templeton of Eleanor; brother, Dorsey Ray Rogers of Inverness, FL; son-in-law, Ed Jackson of Williamstown, and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Dale Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
