Felix Alvarado, 73, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of the Harbor Springs area, passed away on Dec. 8, 2005.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Salowich & Stevens Funeral Home, 3833 Livernois Ave., Detroit, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
Felix was born on Oct. 2, 1932, in La Tuna, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Senobio and Maria (Luna) Alvarado. He grew up in Nilo, Coahuila, Mexico.
On Nov. 30, 1960, he married the former Gay Frances Haskett in Ohio. They lived in the Detroit area until 1977 when they moved their family to Harbor Springs and Felix went to work at Standard Products, Inc., in Gaylord. He worked many long hours, where he sometimes slept in his car in order to be at work on time the next day.
