Shirley Carrol (Glass) Rader, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, joined her parents and sister in the presence of her savior, June 29, 2015. She succumbed to a lengthy illness.

She was born in Wharton, Texas, Oct. 19, 1934 to William and Alma Glass. She was raised in Southern California and graduated from Venice High School. She attended college in Florida while her husband was stationed at Eglin AFB.

The two were married in Denver, Jan. 26, 1954.

After retirement, she lived in El Paso, Texas until she moved to Lake Havasu City in January 1998.

She is survived by Charles, her husband of more than 61 years; four children, Charles, Jr. (Eve), Debra (Brett), William (Pat), and Tracy; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Shirley was first a great mother. Since her Charles was in the military, she was called upon to be the glue which kept a home and family together. This she did for over 27 years. In addition, she was foster parent to more than 60 foster children over the years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, family, and friends in the sure knowledge that there will be a reunion in our Savior.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 504 N. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.

Interment will be at a later date at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested you make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.

Services were placed into the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory
