Mr. Benjamin Burnett, Jr., age 53, husband of Althea Gilliam Burnett of 124 Bishop Place, Union, SC, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Self Regional in Greenwood. He was originally of Reidville, SC.
Mr. Burnett was born in Greer, SC October 26, 1961, a son of the late Benjamin Burnett, Sr. and Kathleen Mitchem Burnett. He was a graduate of Byrnes High School and was employed with Henderson’s Plumbing. Mr. Burnett attended Morningside Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Christy Burnett Hill and husband Brandon of Lyman and Brittany Burnett of TN; two sisters: Vicki Burnett Sanders and husband Ray of Union, Kathy Burnett Tucker of Duncan; three brothers: Luther McSwain Burnett and wife Joan of Duncan, Jerry Burnett and wife Linda of Union and Edward Burnett of Reidville; four grandchildren: Hannah and Gabriel Hill and Trevor and Shawn Aaron Burnett; four step-children: Scarlet Sherbert, Hailey Sherbert, Jonathan Sherbert and Sean Cartee; two step-grandchildren: Ashton and Hunter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Aubrey Calvert, Mr. Bill Randall and Mr. Ben Ivey. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Phil Woods, Jesse Robinson, Jason McAbee, Tony Huitt, Jimmy Lawson and Scott Sanders. The employees of Henderson Plumbing are asked to sit in a group.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:30 PM Monday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 112 Bates Avenue, Union, SC 29379.
The family will be at the home of his sister, Vicki and Ray Sanders, 201 Stutts Avenue, Union.
