Elizabeth Jane (Randal) Burgess, 91, of Tallahassee, Florida died August 28, 2015. Jane was born in Salem, West Virginia and graduated from Williamson, West Virginia High School. She then graduated (Home Economics) from West Virginia University and got married to Oliver (Ollie) Teays Burgess. She worked for the State of Florida Welfare System before joining the Florida Extension Service in 1954. She attained a Masters Degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. She was active in the leadership of Jackson County 4-H Clubs, Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Marianna Woman's Club, Marianna Pilots Club and Chipola Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna where she enjoyed singing in the choir and seasonal events. She retired from Extension work in 1984 and in 1990 moved with Ollie to Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee.

She and Ollie were instrumental in the continuation of the Country Store at Wesminster Oaks for which they won a Volunteer Award from FAHA. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. F. Boyd Randal and Anna Morehed Miller Randal, sister, Keitha Anne Randal Davey and husband Oliver Burgess. She is survived by her son Bill and wife, Trish of St Simons Island, GA, two grandchildren Randy Burgess (wife Megan Shemmel) of Chicago, IL, Jim Burgess(wife Jennifer) and three great grandchildren Amelia Jane Burgess, John Grady Burgess and Joseph Henry Burgess of Brunswick, GA. She is also survived by nephews Larry Bowen of St Albans, WV and James Davey of Albuquerque, NM and niece Mary Burgess of Atlanta, GA.

Arrangements are being handled by Cully's MeadowWood Funeral Home with a private service in Timberlane Cemetery. A memorial TBA will be held at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee (4429 Meandering Way, Tallahassee FL 32308).
