Death: Jessica Paige King
Published: Friday, March 21, 1997 12:00 a.m. MST

Our sweet angel and beloved daughter, Jessica Paige King, returned home to her Father-in-Heaven on the evening of March 19, 1997. She fell victim to a teenage driver speeding through a neighborhood full of children playing.

Jessie was born on June 23, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the short 21 months of her life on this earth she had a very healing and profound effect on our family, friends and community. Jessie was always the happy baby, she would pat us on the head when we were sad, and was always the first to offer a kiss when her brothers got hurt. In the morning when she would wake up, she would gently say "guys."-this was the indication that she wanted to get up. If her mom or dad did not respond she would call her oldest brother, Chase and he would go and retrieve her. Chase and Jessie would then do the "Flying Jessie", as Chase put it, and Chase would then carry her into the living room to watch Barney with Chase and Max. Jessie was in the self awareness stage and was not afraid to tell you if you got her the wrong item. She would gently gab your fingers and say "amir" and then take you the item that SHE wanted. Her latest and greatest love was for "ice" which meant ice cream. Jessie and her mother would often share a bowl of it in the evenings before bed. Our sweet daughter loved to snuggle with her parents and brothers alike. Max has always been intrigued with long words and would change Jessie's name. He would call her "Jessie Gooie," and the latest name he had for her was "Jessie Wessie." Max would insist that everyone call her by his designated name. Jessie had a very special association with her aunt M'lissa and uncle Terry. Every Saturday, she would wake up, grab her purse and place it in the crook of her arm and then announce to the family "shop." This was an indication that we were supposed to call M'lissa and have her come and take her shopping. This was their Saturday ritual. Jessie will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that she knew.Jessie is survived by her parents, David and Danielle King; brothers, Chase Alec and Max Ian King, grandparents, Sonta and Mike King, all of Salt Lake; Barbara and Roger Barcal of San Bruno, CA; great-grandparents, Helen and Walter King of Midvale; Rita Davis of Clear Lake Oaks, CA; Rose Barcal of Lynnwood, NV; Honorary parents, M'lissa and Terry Morgan of Salt Lake City; aunts and uncles, Jennifer "Pooh" King, Danni and Shawn King , Michelle and William Fletcher, Shannon and Don Groves, Adam King, Dale Johns, Amy and Paul Bectrami, BriAnne Barcal and many more cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 1997 12 p.m. at the Hillside Stake Center, 1900 East 1400 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the stake center. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park, 2350 East 1300 South. Arranged by Russon Brothers Mortuary, Salt Lake City, Utah
