CLARENCE SAMUEL COSS, 79, of 1046 S. Potomac St., died Wednesday at Washington County Hospital.


Born in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late William S. and Emma Kate Justice Coss. His wife, Nellie F. Coss, died in 1979.


He owned and operated Dual Gardens, formerly on Dual Highway, and was a truck farmer.


He was a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren and the men's bible class. He was a member of the First Hose Fire Co.


He is survived by two daughters, Betty F. Zittle and Phyllis Marie Guessford, both of Hagerstown; sister, Mildred Bostetter, Hagerstown; three brothers, Charles Coss, St. James; Jacob Coss and Herbert Coss, both of Hagerstown; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.


Services Saturday at 1 pm at Minnich Funeral Home, E. Wilson Blvd., the Rev. Joseph M. Quesenberry officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
