LA MARQUE - Gerald Kenneth Neal, 70, of La Marque, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Neal was born April 2, 1930, in Albia, Iowa. He was retired from the military, serving in the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class during the Korean and Vietnam conflict. He taught ROTC at Ball High School in Galveston.

Mr. Neal is survived by two sons, Gerald Neal and Ronnie L. Neal; sisters, Shirley Brown and Mary Kay Carter; brother, Hal Neal Jr.; and aunt, Betty Smead.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas. Funeral services will be "at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January .22,200i; at the funeral home with Msgr.T. Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas.
