Terry Joe Turnbaugh, age 67, of Carlisle, and formerly of Tyrone, died at home on Monday, August 24, 2015. Terry was born on Thursday, March 11, 1948 in Philipsburg, PA to the late Joseph D. Turnbaugh and Mabel (Bickel) Turnbaugh.

Terry graduated from Tyrone Area High School as part of the class of 1966. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Juniata College and his master’s degree from Penn State University. Terry retired from Cumberland Valley School District in Mechanicsburg, after over 30 years of service working as a psychology and sociology teacher. He also worked at Penn State Harrisburg as a Residence Living Coordinator. Terry was a member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club, American Legion, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Carlisle Lodge No. 578. Terry enjoyed sports immensely, and he was especially a fan of Notre Dame football. He was a very talented quarterback in high school and college.
