BYRAN — Charlie Jo Payne 94, of Bryan died July 30, 2006, at Crestview Retirement Community.

She was the only child of Dr. Charles M. and Josie Cook and was born Nov. 13, 1911 in Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School and moved to Dallas where she met Don Arthur Payne in 1936; and they were married July 2, 1938.

Charlie Jo is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Don Charles and Susan Payne of Holden, Maine, and David Arthur and Carol Payne of Tyler; grandchildren David Christopher Payne of Tyler, Jennifer Payne Coselli '92 and her husband Richard of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Chad and Cameron Payne.

Visitation is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Graveside service is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at College Station Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Crestview for the patience and loving care they provided from the time Charlie Jo moved in, in 1998 throughout the rest of her life.
