SCHODACK Kenneth L. Morris, 71, of Schodack died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at VA Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a lengthy illness. Born in Troy, he had been a resident of the Capital Region his entire life. Ken was owner/operator of Ken Morris & Son Excavating Co. since 1959, and Morris Development Inc. since 1975 retiring in 1996. He was a fireman third class on a cruiser for the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a 45 year member of Melvin Roads American Legion Post #1231, a life member of Nassau Sportsman Club, he also received the God and Country award from the Boy Scouts. Ken was predeceased by his parents Kenneth C. and Viola M. (Caldwell) Morris, and a brother Robert Morris. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lois E. (Palmer) Morris of Schodack; four daughters, Darlene B. (Link) Pettit of Duanesburg, Lois A. (Jim) Bennett of Hillborough, N.J., Donna L. (Thomas) Haberland of Schodack, and Jacqueline K. (Jim) Green of Cary, N.C.; one son, Kenneth C. (Linda-Le) Morris II of Schodack; a sister, Diane Finley of East Greenbush. Also survived by 13 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 11:00 a.m. Wednesday from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush, N.Y.
