Mary Magnuson, 53, of Sumner, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, July 30 at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas Thursday Aug. 3 at 10:00 A.M. Major Tex Ellis officiating. Graveside services following at Pyles Cemetery in Sumner.
She was born June 24, 1953 in Odessa, Texas the daughter of the late Alden Loyd Kunkel, and Lula Jean Poland Kunkel of Odessa, Texas. She married Haston Magnuson on Jan, 23, 1971. She was a member of The Salvation Army.
She was preceded in death by her father, her brother, David Leon Kunkel, and her father-in-law, Eugene Magnuson.
She is survived by her husband, Haston, and daughters, Carol Ann Magnuson and Rhoda Sue Foreman, and husband Leigh Foreman of Sumner. Grandchildren are Casey and Katie Harper. Her mother, Lula Jean Poland Kunkel. Brothers, Ray Hugh Kunkel and wife, Sharon Kunkel, Cleburne, Tx., Alden Clem Kunkel, and wife Elene Kunkel, Banning, California, and sister, Rhonda Sue Green, Odessa, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She joined The Salvation Army in 1968 in Odessa, Tx. And moved to Paris in 1971. She was a Sunday School Teacher, then became Young People's Sergeant Major.
She taught Junior Soldier's, Sunbeams, Assistant Guard Leader, Home League Member, League of Mercy member, Songster, and Timbrelist. She was very dedicated and active up until she was promoted to Glory where she is now with the Lord she served.
Memorials can be made to The Salvation Army Youth programs in honor of all her years of service.
