Glen Truman Stevens was born May 17, 1919 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one of 14 children born to Stephen Edgar Stevens and Faletues Viola (Sheets). His father worked or National Zinc Smelter and his mother was a homemaker. Glen attended Mauler Creek School. His family came of Oklahoma in the early 1900s and Glen was a lifelong Washington County resident.

He joined the United States Army in 1941 and serve throughout World War II until 1946. Glen's brother introduced him to Lillian Lucille Fox. They were married in 1945 in Kansas City and shared 63 years of marriage.

Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dewey. He and his sister Loraine played music and entertained at the Green Country Chapel as well as churches, nursing homes and other events. Church was very important to Glen.

Glen Truman Stevens was inducted into the CENTENARIANS OF OKLAHOMA HALL OF FAME just after turning 100 years of age. At the time of his induction he shared these words of wisdom with us: "Slow Down Living" "Don't RUSH!" "Everyone should spend one year in the service." Glen's Centenarian file will be sent to the Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City to become a permanent part of Oklahoma History.
