Rebecca "Becky" Humphries Greene Staton, age 79, of 45 Granville Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at her residence. Becky was born February 8, 1936 in Covington, a daughter of the late Roscoe Bervie Humphries and Mabel Maddy Humphries. She was employed by Alleghany Regional Hospital for 34 years in the Patient Accounts Department, and retired in 2002 from First Citizens Bank after five years of service. She was Owner/Operator of East Coast Petroleum in Clifton Forge, and was a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the adult choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Sonny" Greene and her second husband, Calvin C. Staton, as well as a brother, Wilson Roscoe Humphries. She is survived by a daughter, Tina Haggerty and son-in-law, Dave Haggerty of Clifton Forge; two sons, Bruce Greene and wife Lauree of Leesburg, and Ricky Greene and wife Connie of Greensboro, NC; two step daughters, Terrie Wright of Clifton Forge and Sue Reynolds of Ivy; five grandchildren, Ashley Seldomridge and husband Scott, Caleb Haggerty, Richard Greene and fiancée Rebecca Stoner, Josh Greene and wife Emily, and Allison Greene; six great grandchildren, Emma, Will, Connor, Payton, Mya, and Madison; two sisters, Rosetta Daniels of Smithfield, and Mary Robinson, of Kernersville, NC; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Lee McMillen of Covington. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Richard Greene, Josh Greene, Caleb Haggerty, Dave Haggerty, Scott Seldomridge, Lee McMillen and Ricky Seldomridge. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, 544 Church Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
