Funeral Services For W. Lee Dowlen Are Friday At 2

Prominent Windom Citizen Succumbs To Long Illness

Funeral services for W. Lee Dowlen, prominent business man and banker of Windom, will be held from the Methodist church in Windom Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

One of Fannin county's most outstanding citizens, Mr. Dowlen was the active head of W. H. Dowlen & Sons of Windom. He was president of the First National Bank there. He was active worker in the Methodist church, serving as chairman of the Board of Stewards. for many years Mr. Dowlen was a member of the Masonic lodge. He was also affiliated with the Knight Templar order.

Mr. Dowlen had been in ill health for four or five years. He had remained active in all business, civic and religious matters up until the time of his death.

He was 61 years of age.

Mr. Dowlen is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. W. H. Dowlen, two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Schnable and Miss Ruth Dowlen, all of Windom and many other relatives scattered over a wide area.

Although he is listed in the Oakwood interment records and his death certificate indicates he is buried at Oakwood, his wife, Daisy F. Meachum Dowlen is buried at Restland Cemetery in Dallas. [FindaGrave#109158838]. AND W. Lee Dowlen has a marker next to hers. [FindaGrave#109158625].

It could be only be a marker OR they may have moved his remains to be buried next to her.
