Fate Lamar Grant departed this life February 27, 2006 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was born to the late parents of Drew H. Grant and Mattie Brooks Grant, October 23, 1921, in Paradise, Drew County, Arkansas.
He was retired from The U.S. Marine Corp, having entered service in 1942, and the U.S. Civil Service.
Lamar was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Barnes, four brothers, Alpha Lou, Woodrow Wilson, John William, and Wonder Earl Grant. Six nieces, and three nephews survive him.
Memorial services will be held at the Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, March 19, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bob Biggers officiating.
