Lillard and Maude had six known children: Floyd Frederick Roper (1901-1972), Estelle Jewell 'Stella' Roper (1904-1986), Everett B. Roper (1904-1982), Roy C. Roper (1905-1974, Charles Roper (1910-1967), and Chester E. Roper (1925- ).

Living with them were five children: Floyd, age 8; Everett Roper, age 7; Stella, age 6; Roy, age 4; and Charles, age 10 months; all born in Oklahoma. Also living in the household were Lillard's parents, Charles Roper, age 74, born in Kentucky; and Narcissa Roper, age 54, born in Tennessee.

The 1930 Federal Census for Precinct 1, Texas (Lamar County) shows Lillard Roper, an automobile mechanic, age 52, born in Arkansas; and his wife, Maude, age 50; born in Arkansas. Living with them was their son, Chester E. Roper, age 5, born in Texas.
Maude died March 19, 1939 in Paris, Texas (Lamar County) and was buried there in the Little Vine Cemetery.
