Ellen was born in Delta, Utah on November 9, 1939 to George Pewtress and Savalla Webb, and raised by Wayne and Savalla Bryant in Tooele, Utah. Overcoming many obstacles early on, she graduated from Salt Lake Trade Tech and worked as a secretary for the United States Army for many years where she met the love of her life, Lt. Col. Byron S. Easton. They were married in 1966, and lived in Kansas, Japan, Korea, and Wyoming eventually returning to Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1993. She loved to read and play Rummikub, but her true joy in life was her family. She was dedicated to creating memories and traditions, nourishing relationships with those she cared about, and giving generously of her time, wisdom, and means.
She is preceded in death by her parents; George Pewtress, and Wayne and Savalla Bryant; her sisters, Carol Smith and Llona Pewtress; and her eternal companion, Lt. Col. Byron S. Easton. She is survived by her brothers; Don (Marilyn) Bryant and Gene (Sherry) Bryant; sister, Cindy (Allen) Cunningham; children, Tamera (Dane) Hammond and Timothy Hansen; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
In honoring the wishes of Ellen, a private memorial service will be held. Condolences may be sent to the family at valleyviewfuneral.com.
