On August 10th Earl Bates was received into the loving arms of our Savior, 94 years after his birth on August 10th 1921.
Earl was born in Bellingham and graduated from BHS, class of 1941. He joined the Navy soon after the attack on Pearl Harbor and served his country aboard the USS Guam in the South Pacific.
His career as a bus driver lasted over 40 years, 28 of which were spent with Greyhound.
He was married in 1949 to Martha Collins until her death in 2011. He is also preceded in death by his sons, Joe and Cary, and daughter-in-law, Cindy.
Graveside services will be held on August 24th at 2:00 P.M. at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham.
