Abingdon, VA – Tommy Eddie Bryant, age 79, passed on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Lakebridge Health Care Center in Johnson City, TN. Mr. Bryant was born and raised in Arkansas to the late Gilbert and Edith Norris Bryant. He served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Army Reserve. Tommy was a police officer for the Newport News, VA Police Dept., was employed by the DMV, and was a Campus Police officer at Virginia Highlands Community College.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Pitts Bryant.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Lynn Bryant and wife Marsha of Glade Spring, VA and Gary Lynn Bryant and wife Christi of Abingdon, VA; two granddaughters, Brittany Prater and Chelsey Bryant; and two great grandchildren, Enoch Thomas Prater and Silas James Prater.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Ethan Prater officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to convene at the cemetery. There will be no visitation.
