He was born in Adams County on Jan. 5, 1943, the son of the late Maxine (Lafferty) Robbins.
Besides his mother, he was preceded by his stepfather, Robert Robbins; and brother, Daryl Vance.
David was a member of the Masonic Lodge 52 in Wilmington.
David is survived by his wife, Annette Vance, whom he married July 22, 2003; son, Mitchell (Brandie) Vance of Wilmington; two daughters, Valorie (Randy) Fawley of Wilmington and Darlene Pitzer of Wilmington, two stepsons, Cory Moore of Georgia and Jeramy Moore of Chillicothe; brother, Ronnie (Delores) Vance of Arizona; two sisters, Roberta O'Brient of Xenia and Cheryl (Will) Marksberry of Wilmington; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will start with a Masonic service at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Barnes Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time the of service Monday at the funeral home.
