Viola C. Ferguson entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born March 9, 1928 to the late James and Alpha Thomas Carter. She was the granddaughter of the late Dr. William and Ann Carter. She was also predeceased by her husband: Phillip W. Ferguson; sons: Phillip and Alfred Ferguson and brother: J. T. Carter.
She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her sons: Roger Carter, Robert Ferguson (Jayne), Raymond Ferguson and Richard Ferguson (Ginger); daughters: Darlene Shull, Martha Wingard (Bennie), Mary Nobles (Robbie), Betty Ferguson and Nancy Emanuel (Joe); seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, and two brothers: James and Harold Carter.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with burial to follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia.
