Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Belle Britton Pierce, 66, widow of W. H. Pierce, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at New Zion Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mack Pinkelton and the Rev. Raymond Johns, Baptist ministers. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Mrs. Pierce died at 9:30 o'clock Sunday night, January 20, at her home in Pulaski, after a long illness.
Born April 19, 1896, in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late James H. Britton and Mary E. Nevils Britton. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, W. H. Pierce died in 1959.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by six sons, Paul Pierce, Thomas Pierce and John Harvey Pierce, Giles County, Robert Pierce and Alton Pierce, Huntsville, Ala., and David Pierce, Nashville; four daughters, Mrs. Ellen McDougal, Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Ada Will Hutton, Nashville, Mrs. Rachel Griffis, Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Mabel Jones, Pulaski; and one sister, Mrs. Will C. Curry, Pulaski.
