Gerald Wendell Pedersen was born in Newell, Iowa, to Agnes Christensen and Anders Christian Pedersen. One of five children, he grew up on the family farm.
In 1945, at age 17, Gerald enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Hornet in the South Pacific.
After his discharge he attended Grand View College where he played on the basketball and baseball teams.
Gerald married Annabelle Janet Boheim on December 18, 1949.
The family moved from Iowa to California in 1962 and to Tucson, Arizona, in 1964; there Gerald was the assistant general manager of West Cap Arizona, an electronics manufacturer, until his retirement in 1985.
Gerald founded the family construction business GW Pedersen and Sons, Inc., in 1980.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annabelle; sister, Joan; sons, Mike, Richard (Laura), Duane, and David (Keira); eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services to be held at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.
