Ethyl Jeanette Bobbitt, 97, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan, Indiana.
She was born on June 4, 1918 in Curryville, Missouri daughter of Porter William and Kathryn Sue (Biggs) May. Ethyl was a retired nurse from Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan, Indiana. She served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant. Ethyl was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church, Quilters Club and Friday Afternoon Club.
Ethyl is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 68 years Willis Hugh Bobbitt whom she married on August 16, 1945, daughter Pamela Sue Bobbitt and her sister Eunice Louise May.
Survivors include two sons; Ian Hugh Bobbitt (Jan) of Sullivan, Indiana and Joe Porter Bobbitt (Kathy) of Laramie, Wyoming, six grandchildren; Jon (Katie) Bobbitt, Jason (Becky) Bobbitt of Sullivan, and Kristin (Brent) Burkhart, Paula (Nate) Vasek, Kara Bobbitt and Laura (Will) Robbins, of Wyoming and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services for Ethyl and Willis Bobbitt will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana with Rev. Dale Wise officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Banks and Brust Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made to the Sullivan First Christian Church Missionary Unit #1.
