Pauline Charlet Schnabel, the daughter of Henry F. and Beatrice (Nuss) Schnabel, was born on July 23, 1931 in Dearborn Township near Wolsey, SD. Pauline lived in Wolsey, SD and Redfield, SD, until moving to Huron, SD in 1948. Pauline lived at the Center for Independence for many years before moving to the SunQuest Healthcare Center in July of 2009. She had also worked several jobs at the Center for Independence for many years.

Pauline attended the Huron Christian Church for many years. She loved animals and small children. She enjoyed watching television, dances, and going out to eat. She also loved to go on field trips with the Center for Independence, and her trips to the State Fair. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She died at the age of 80 on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, SD.

Grateful for having shared in Pauline’s life, are her two brothers, Robert E. Schnabel of Huron, SD and Jack L. (Gloria) Schnabel, of Yucaipa, CA; her guardian, Geraldine Kahre of Huron, SD; 7 nieces: Sharon, Sheila, Tara, Marla, Christie, Melanie,and Cheryl; 5 nephews: Ron, Roger, Richard, Michael, and Craig; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Pauline Schnabel was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilbur Schnabel; sister, Marilyn S. Allred; and nieces Denise Schnabel and Vicki Schnabel.
