VALE---Bobby Gene Sain, 80, passed away August 25, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 26, 1935 in Lincoln County and was the son of the late Louise Sain Beam Logan and was raised by his grandparents the late Henry and Mae Black Sain.

A member of Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, he retired as owner and operator of Sain Wood Turning. Bob enjoyed many things, gardening, raising livestock, sawmilling, woodworking, wrestling and most of all talking to people.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Faye Reinhardt Sain of the home; two sons Douglas Sain and Jeffrey Sain of Vale; four sisters-in-law, Nancy Beam, Arie Taylor, Dorothy Martin, of Vale and Betty Pope of Statesville; one brother-in-law, J.D. (Dule) Reinhardt of Vale.

In addition to his mother and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max Beam; two stepfathers, Ross Beam and Durham Logan; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Reinhardt and Goldie Ellis; four brothers-in-law, R.A. Martin, Dewey Taylor, Coyt Pope, and John Ellis

The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. William Kanupp at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Corinth Baptist Church in Vale. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
