Elmer Wayne “Elmo” Dreher, 78, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was born January 12, 1937 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to the late Robert and Evelyn Behr Dreher. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict and retired after 40 years from Union Pacific Railroad. He owned Expert Tree Service Company.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betty Sue Johnson Dreher; children, Terry Boykin, Harold Boykin, Ronald Boykin, Susan Jenks, Gina Henderson, Sherry Forrester and Hank Merkel; sixteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Louie Dreher; twin sisters, Jeanette Edds and Annette Armstrong; and his dachshund, Mitsy. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee Dreher; parents; brothers, Harry and Ross Dreher and a sister, Emma Jean Sullivan.
Elmo never met a stranger and was a loving and generous man.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main St., NLR, AR 72114).
