Kathryn was born at home on July 5, 1928 in Lexington Va. She lived in Petersburg, Virginia Beach, and most recently Imperial Plaza in Richmond. Kathryn was a member of the WWII Cadet Nursing Corps and graduated from the Winchester Memorial School of Nursing. Her passions were many; family, love of her birds and nature, antiques, sewing, crafting, and games. She was a longtime member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Comer Morris (Michael) of Fulks Run, Jennifer Comer Gills (Charles) of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Peter Justin Morris (Margaret), Kathryn Nicole Morris, Lindsey Marie Snare, Shannon Lee Snare; three great-grandchildren, Will, Charlie, Henry Morris; sister, Martha "Bell" Herbert of Richmond; brother, Francis Barger of Fredericksburg; numerous favorite nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Woody Funeral Home – Atlee Chapel, 9217 Shady Grove Rd. Mechanicsville. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 27, at 12:00pm at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, 116 Peaceful Ln. Lexington, VA 24450, with Pastor Carl Pattison officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wildlife Center of Virginia, 1800 S. Delphine Ave. Waynesboro, VA 22980.
