"Death has again invaded our section and claimed as its victim, James William Jones. He was born Feb. 23, 1855; was married to Mary Ann McDaniel and to this union 14 children were born -- 6 sons and 8 daughters. His companion, six daughters and two sons preceded him to the grave. He professed a hope in Christ and united with the Church of Christ 40 years ago and lived a consecrated christian life, patient, tender-hearted and mothered his children affectionately since the death of his companion. He will be greatly missed by the community, as well as in the home. The deceased is survived by four sons: Houston, Wes, E.J. and Calvin; two daughters: Mesdames Chester Henderson and Athel Frields. A brief service was held in the home and concluded at Cuba Church of Christ. He was buried in Cuba Church of Christ Cemetery."
