Donald John Delecki, 81, of Charlotte, MI died on Thursday, August 20 at Eaton County Health and Rehab. Don was born August 8, 1934, the son of John and Jennie (Kusek) Delecki in Flint, MI. Don served in the Army, and then he became a truck driver, working for 24 ½ years for Associated Trucking before retiring. He also loved farming…spending many years on his family farm in Flushing, Michigan. Don was an avid sports fan, he loved watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and University of Michigan. He often volunteered his time to transport friends to and from appointments, and he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Valerie Bice; sons, Donald (Val) Delecki, Gary (Angi) Delecki, Daniel (April) Delecki, and Dennis Delecki; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Jim (Marcella) Delecki, Frank (Norma) Delecki, and Julie Delecki; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings John Slagor, Eddie Slagor, Stella (Slagor) Fyke, Mary (Slagor) Petrove, Fran (Delecki) Wojtysiak, and Paul Delecki.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, August 24, 11 AM at the Charlotte Church of Christ with Rev. John Bailey officiating. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation.
