Services Wednesday for motorcycle enthusiast
Edward S. Hess, 45, of Rittenhouse Mill Road, Berwick, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born April 20, 1970, in Berwick, he was the son of the late Edward S. Hess and Carol (Adams) Hess of Berwick.
A graduate of Berwick High School, he was a maintenance supervisor for Cheetah Chassis, Berwick, retiring from Dollar Tree in 2007 due to his health.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast, a founding member of the Independent Bikers Federation of PA, where he served as president and was currently the vice president. His other memberships included Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick, and Berwick VFW.
Among his interests were maintenance on motorcycles, fundraisers for other people, spending time with his dog, Gemma, and his grandson, Cameron.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 14 years, the former Kelly Karpinski; three sons: Nathan Hess of Berwick; Tanner Hess of Mount Carmel, and a stepson: Joshua Gurns of Berwick; one stepdaughter: Jolynn Gurns of Berwick; one grandson: Cameron William Hess; one brother: Brian E. Hess and his wife, Janice Reinke, of Camp Hill; and one sister: Jennifer, wife of Jason Bogart of Berwick.
A visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, from 6 p.m. until the time of the services at 8 at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with the Rev. Chad Hebrink officiating.
There will be a celebration of life at the Berwick VFW, 1408 W. Front St., on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the family to help defray expenses.
