Loa Fayrene West, 89, longtime Vinita resident, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Craig General Hospital. West was born on Sept. 6, 1916, in Centralia to David and Frances (Plew) Tanner.

West was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Vinita. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, writing, baking and loved her family.

Survivors include children Loretta Hale and husband Arnold of Vinita; George West and wife Pam also of Vinita; Basil West of California; a sister, Clarice Turner of Nevada; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, six brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006. at

Burckhalter Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Beard officiating.

Burial is to follow at Military Cemetery in Langley.

The family will receive friends and family Sunday, July 30, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Burckhalter Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Service of Vinita.
