Hattie now joins her husband, Anthony "Tony" Sendzik, their son, John Sendzik and sons-in-law Seth Sennett and Todd Grand.
She also joins her parents, "Pet" and Minnie Brown Ricker; brothers Tom, Frank, Omar and Henry Ricker; and sister Hazel LaGross and Helen Sendzik. She passed away unexpectedly at the home of her daughter, Kathy Sennett of Harmony.
Hattie was born in Harmony on July 23, 1918, and was a 1937 graduate of Harmony High School. She married her husband, Tony, operated a poultry farm in Harmony for many years. Hattie was a homemarker all her life. She also drove a school bus, was a 4-H Club Leader, served on the Harmony school committee, and worked at the town election polls. Hattie was a Golden member of the Subordinate Grange and a member of East Somerset Pomona and the Maine State Grange.
Whether it was caring for her family members, driving to doctor's appointments and lawn sales, or visting family, she enjoyed being out "galloping" and doing for others.
She was the matriarch of a large clan and will be sadly missed by her son, Charles "Skip and Sandra Sendzik of Gorham, and their daughters, Michele Landry, Anna, Monica and Haley of Windham; Tami Baker (and Scott), Alexandria and Isabella of Candia, N.H.; Gina Lefebvre (and Craig), and Dylan of Gorham; and Stacy Sandborn (and David), Nicholas and Colby of Standish; a daughter, Arlene and David Lyons of Pittsfield, and her children Melody Grand (and Ken Walker); Chris Rowell (and Becky), and Zachary of Fremont, N.H.; Pam Greaney (and Dick), of Lebanon; Karen Rowell (and Monty Payne) Jeremy and Justin; Jasmine Gates, Jebediah Devoll; Gail Lamb (and Jeff), Jade and Jewel of Mount Vernon; and Arthur Rowell (and Jen) of Nashua, N.H.; and daughter, Kathy Sennett of Harmony.
Hattie was a special aunt to Kelly, Tiffany, and Vanessa Laugee of Harmony and to many other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by cousins.
Those who wish may make donations in Hattie's memory to the Harmony Ambulance Service, c/o Brian Bagley, 37 North Road, Harmony, ME 04942, or the Grange Scholarship Fund, St. Albans Grange, c/o Master Robert Beauchesne, 179 Mason Corner Road, St. Albans, ME 04971.
