FuFuneral services for Mrs. Lonnie K. Tucker, 83, of Winnsboro will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Winnsboro with Rev. Craig Beeman officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill’s First National funeral home.

Mrs. Tucker was born March 17, 1932 in Bay, Arkansas to the union of her parents Lillian Opal Kee and Robert Clarence “R.C” Kee. She went on to her reward on Monday, August 24, 2015.

At a young age her family settled in the small farming community of Rayville, Louisiana where she would meet and later marry her husband of 61 years, Jack. Together, they would make their home and raise their family in Winnsboro for nearly 6 decades. She was very active in her church, community, and the Women’s Mission Union of the Deer Creek Association. She thoroughly enjoyed sewing and needlework, and was especially enthusiastic about flower gardening, spending hours on end diligently cultivating, pruning, nurturing and admiring all the beauty and wonderment that is God’s creation. She prized her dear friends, and was eager to respond with a kind word or deed, or a listening ear to those in need. She loved her family and raised her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, guiding through example and gentility of spirit. Her dignity, values and grace will carry on through her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack S. Tucker, sister Ruby Kee Thompson, and sister Clarice Kee Gibson.

Survivors include: children James K. Tucker and wife Arlene of Eunice, Larry N. Tucker of Calhoun, Jennifer S. Patterson and husband Bill of Ruston, Julia K.
