Katie Maude “Kaye” Carter, age 92, a resident of Southaven formerly of Brandon, died Sunday August 23, 2015 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30am Wednesday August 26, 2015 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with interment to follow in Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Tuesday August 25, 2015 at Ott &Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Rev. Gar Glazier will officiate.

Mrs. Carter was born in Morton, MS to her parents John Lindsey and Zee Edwards Lindsey on September 6, 2015. She had retired from the Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company in 1961. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Ruth Brooks.

Survivors include her husband James M. “Marvin” Carter of Southaven, one son, Myron Carter (Patsy) also of Southaven, two sisters: June Claypool and Betty Lewis ( Billy) all of Morton. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Cory Carter and Chad Carter and two great grandchildren; Hannah Carter and Hayden Carter.
