She married Charlie A. Carlson on September 7, 1941 and moved to Cohasset where they owned a dairy farm with as many as 28 visiting milk customers. They also raised County and State Champion potatoes, which they peddled to customers along the Iron Range to Hibbing.
Netsy taught religious release time in Cohasset for the First Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. She was appointed Deputy Clerk for Bass Brook Township and was later elected Clerk and served in that capacity until they moved to Grand Rapids in 1969. She then became a teacher’s aid at Edna I. Murphy Elementary School until retirement. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, LWML, Northwest Bible study group, a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary 1720 and a DAV auxiliary officer.
Netsy resided at Oak Hill Advanced Assisted Living. She enjoyed bingo, embroidery, reading, and puzzles, and talking about growing up in Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie, son David and great granddaughter Whitney Happy, brothers Douglas and Irvin, sisters Amelia Greniger, Isabel Nolette, Harriet Frame,.
She is survived by her sister Marion Brenden, sons Doug (Janie), Duane (Denise), Brian, and Brad (Debbie), thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.
