Polly Dudley Hatch passed away in her sleep on August 23, 2015 in Kingwood Texas. Polly was born on Valentine's Day 1934 in San Diego, California to Lt. Paul Dudley (USN) and Polly VanPatten Dudley. Her father was an early Naval Aviator and his career took the family all over the world. Polly grew up all over the United States and overseas in Panama and Morocco. But, she always felt that her hometown was Washington, D.C.

Polly met her future husband, Glen Hatch, while he was at the Naval Academy. She was introduced by her brother, Dud, who was Glen's roommate. They were married on June 19, 1953 and began moving all over the world for the next 23 years as he served as a Naval Aviator. Always a competitive athlete, she took up golf in her twenties and was proud to have held the course record at the Naval Station, Rota, Spain golf course for many years. She was also an avid tennis player and was the family ping pong champ until she gave that sport up just a few years ago.

During their marriage, Glen and Polly traveled all over the world. She was fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian. They spent many years stationed overseas in Spain and Italy and briefly retired in Spain. In 1988 they moved back to the United States and settled down in Palm Desert, California. They moved to Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas in 2004 and were active members of the community. Although somewhat settled down, they continued to travel extensively on military space available flights all over the world, and met friends at every stop.

Polly was known for her energy, enthusiasm, and vitality. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed finding bargains on weekly garage sales expeditions, and could not say "no" to someone in need. She had a worldwide circle of friends who were all amazing people in their own right. She will be sorely missed and although there is great sadness in her passing there is also great appreciation for a life well lived and the memories she gave us.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glen Hatch. She will be laid to rest alongside him in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Dud) Dudley and Bill Dudley, her children, Glen Hatch, Polly Long, Julie Palmer and Paul Hatch, her sisters-in-law, Doris Hyslop, Viola Hatch and Dian Hatch. Polly enjoyed the blessings of 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth Hatch, Harry Hatch, Paul Hatch, Nicole McGahey, Tyler Palmer, Polly Ann Long, Callie Long, Lauren Hatch, Will Hatch and Morgan Cao Hatch.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Dawn McAdams, Sadie Hickman, Katie Shaver, Christine Sims, Andrea Sims, Krystle McAdams, Leona Taylor and Irma Villanueva, for their devotion and care they gave Polly in her final years.
